6 Years ago i was a full serving soldier for the British Army in 7th Parachute Regiment which is an elite Artillery Regiment which serves along side 2,3 PARA in battle, also we did the exact same training but with more focus on Artillery.

Came out for compassionate reasons, i am fed up and civilian life is not for me at all.
I will be taking my time to get myself back into shape, i feel a deep excitement for fresh things, i can feel it already, almost in tears

It's dangerous but it keeps me on my toes, i have a purpose.

Thanks, the application it's self is nothing, i will speak with a advisor who is in the know and see where i can go from there. I just don't fit in in this "normal" life... i can't hold a job because it bores me and kills my soul.
My mood is always changing and i can change in an instant, i need something that keeps up with me.

Depends, it will most likely be Pirbright to redo Phase 1 training, i actually don't have to redo it because it's a 6 years time period before you "have to" but i will opt for it so i am well adjusted. Just means i will be one of the "brighter" recruits there as i have previous knowledge & experience, might even be really good for those around me to learn from me.

Pirbright is from what i remember when i did Phase 1, Artillery, RLC, Air Corp, military police, Royal Signals etc.. regiments requiring some academic skills. Those going Catterick are usually Infantry... the guys who are good at being a grunt.

PARA infantry are the most fittest of the lot and will do P-Company at Colchester which is second to SAS training.
Passed this myself it's hard as nails, it demands mental strength on top of fitness.

My hat off to you mate...really do admire and respect our military....my sons mate enrolled in the tank division good few years back, just as the Afghan war was at its peak.....needless to say there is no use for tanks in Afghanistan so he ended up in bomb disposal

Which obviously he wasn't happy about...but he did come back, unlike many others

I just wish you good luck in whatever you choose Funky, and there's always good prospects of promotion now a days in most army services. I spent a part of my initial guards training at Pirbright, but decided to change to the R.E.M.E at the time when the IRA nail bombed hyde park in London ,
