Any settings for COD4 , trinity said about it earlier when had a quick blast lol
fov , rate settings stuff like that ??

put into the console (` button)

/com_maxfps 250
or
/com_maxfps 125

depending on what you can get with vsync off.

Hopefully will make the game a smoother experience, at the very least the 250 frames per second will help.
Graphics settings are debatable, some people turn them down so you can see further, people more easily etc.
But this is usually only on competitive gamers / promod players config files.

You'd probably get away with max settings @ 250 fps for stock on your rig

I personally have my fps set at 333 although it doesn't usually go more than 270/300

I have read that the human eye can't see more than 125 fps..
No idea if this is true though

Everything about the human eye can't see blah blah is bs and irrelevant.

The point about having high fps on quake engine games (here we go)

is because of the famous rounding error when dividing the max fps in quake engine games (1000) by a single digit integers (1-9)

These provide sweet spots in game which allows for smoother movements.

125 (1000 /

is best for distance
250 (1000 / 4) is best for overall smoothness, distance and height are good
333 (1000 / 3) is best for height, but is usually banned on punkbuster and promod servers. (although there are ways around that too)

The others aren't really as useful.

In terms of FPS in other games, it doesnt matter how much the human eye can see, because your monitor will only output 60 / 75 / 120 / 144 fps anyway.

The point of high FPS is the game you are playing responds smoother and the inputs have less lag etc.

i play on 1600-900,thats the max of my monitor
There are sites to download cfg files from.bashandslash for excample i found some decent ones on there,but my rig is way better then when i tried those,i believe you have a better rig then i have,so i wouldnt even play with the settings to much tbh.
All the settings that you can use have been said allready,though i have packetdub set on 3,but im not sure what it even does

Packetdup is about how good your Internet connection is (ping)

If you have a ping between (these number's are examples because i can't remember the exact numbers)
0-20 packet dup 0
21-40 Packetdup 1
41-80 packetdup 2
81+ packetdup 3

Its about how many packets are sent or lossed through the connection
