Older cpu now I know that - at the moment I have the i5 2500k.

1. Would the i7 920 be an improvement? my PC is running well, can't complain but wouldn't mind upgrading.

2. £28.00 for the cpu, granted, second hand... but is it a good price?

Most i7's will make good money unless its the USA LGA 1156 socket type. The bidders will hold off until the last day or so Billy, just to see how the price rises. Good luck anyway, but expect it to make a minimum of £70 depending what socket type and GHz it is. LGA 1155, 1150 and 1366 normally go for about £120 to £140 second hand  :).

He probably would have put more than a quid in Billy....the way ebay works is that bids go up by £1 increments ( or whatever the seller sets it at) ...so even if you had put in £20 and his maximum bid was £25.....he would have still won the bid at £21 ( £1 more than your bid)

That way it ensures that the winning bid doesn't go for a ridiculous amount of money

sorry you missed out though mate....but as they say, there will be plenty more coming on just have to be patient mate
