Title: GPU buggering stuff up
Post by: !TTM!DonPietro 比利 on May 07, 2017, 10:07:56 AM
For once.. not a problem I'm having  ;D ;D ;D - oh the relief!!

My dad just got a GTX 750ti, only had something like a HD7770 in before.  He removed drivers, took it out, put the 750ti in and for some reason 1. He can't get into bios and 2. his pc takes 3 mins to bootup... it usually takes about 8 seconds, once the pc is booted everything is perfect as it should be but it's not right is it? can't get into bios and pc taking forever to boot, any ideas? - he's updated everything like bios etc through a utility from the manufacturer and all drivers are upto date.  He tried sticking the 7770 back in and all worked as it should, could get into bios and booted fast... odd one? glad it's not me this time lol

Edit: - just to clarify there's also no 6 pin power connector on the card and his psu is something like 700w which should be more then enough for this card.

The card should work without any problems Billy, as its a low power card and relies purely on power from the pcie slot. Just make sure in the bios that the pc is set to boot on the pcie slot, rather than set on auto detect. If the pc is set on auto detect the graphic card, then it will check the onboard first  :).

Turns out his bios was NOT updated to the new one... lol now it is and all working fine, from what I've read it can be a common problem with gagabyte motherboards, odd? I certainly have never had to update my bios for a GPU but learn something new everyday lol
