Title: laser or optical gaming mouse?
Post by: yogi on January 24, 2016, 10:42:59 PM
After less than a year with my logitec gs500s the right hand aim button is starting to fail. ..sometimes it aims, but most times it doesn't

Without getting into a debate on which mouse to go for I'm just wanting your opinions on either optical or laser

Mine is laser at the moment so would like a change but only if optical are a lot better for gaming

Thanks

I have used both and can honestly say I have never noticed a difference fella. Lets see the first person to start telling you what mouse to buy because "Its da best mouse in da world" lol

Both are now equally as good, years back gamers preferred optical but nowadays it doesn't matter due to them both being highly accurate with tracking.

I currently have the SteelSeries Sensei laser mouse.  There is no need to pay something crazy like £70 for a mouse.

Thanks all...I still think I'll go for an optical...but not really bothered about a designer branded one tbh

Sub £30 IF possible...been disappointed with this logitec...lasted less than a year.....

Neo...I've been told is the retainer spring has worn

MX518 lasted me about 6 years and I have to say it was probably the most comfortable to game with.

I got a Zowie FK2 last year and its the best i've had, it doesn't have any software/ led's/ macros or other fancy stuff. While it's ambidextrous, it's the best fitting mouse for me, if you like the feel and size of the gs500, get another or something similar as comfort is most important imo.

FK2-£50 https://www.overclockers.co.uk/zowie-fk2-high-performance-gaming-mouse-kb-036-zw.html
